Representations of women. What about looking at “bad women” specifically – ie those who fall outside the normal good mother/wife roles? I think that would be a great study. For reading you could have an initial look at some of the stuff here:

We can discuss this further. Good primary research might be on what female audience members enjoy about women characters which transgress normal codes of behaviour.
